How Does Professional Coaching Add Value to Your Organization?
It is our contention that individuals who receive coaching experience powerful long-term improvements in managerial effectiveness, professional skills, decision-making and interpersonal awareness. We also believe that organizations that engage coaching services reap significant financial and intangible benefits.

But you don’t have to take our word for it.
Several recent studies have begun to provide empirical evidence confirming the impact of professional coaching on improved employee performance, productivity, work quality and employee retention. A longitudinal survey of over 400 senior managers by Dr. James Smither found significant improvement in the performance of executives who worked with a coach as measured by direct report and supervisor ratings. In another study of 43 executives by Merrill Anderson, PhD, 60% of coaching participants reported increased productivity, and the same percentage were able to identify specific financial benefits that resulted from their coaching. In a third survey of 100 executives conducted by Manchester, Inc., 48% reported a significant increase in their overall work quality, and one out of three said that coaching resulted in their own retention.

The research findings on the intangible benefits from coaching are even more robust:

  • Improved Work Relationships - Coaching participants reported improved work relationships with direct reports (77%), supervisors (71%) and peers (63%).
  • Improved Teamwork - Two-thirds of executives reported that teamwork improved significantly as a result of coaching.
  • Improved Behavioral and Interpersonal Skills - Recent evidence gathered by Kenneth Nowack, PhD, demonstrates significant improvements in the areas of communication, interpersonal sensitivity, and learning among executives who have received coaching.

The growing body of empirical evidence on the positive value of executive coaching has not gone unnoticed by national business journals, as demonstrated by the following:

“Recent studies show business coaching and executive coaching to be the most effective means for achieving sustainable growth, change and development in the individual, group and organization.” - HR Magazine
